About the Role

We're looking for a Customer AI Engineer to join our team at Visma Machine Learning Assets. You'll work directly with our most important customers to discover, prototype, and prove out new AI-powered automation workflows for accounting and finance.

This is a role for someone who loves being at the intersection of customers and technology — understanding real business problems, building working prototypes with our APIs, and shaping what our platform should do next.

You'll work closely with our Commercial team on customer contact and with the Data Science and Engineering teams to translate what you learn from customers into product improvements and new API capabilities. When we win with a customer, it's often because someone in this role figured out both what to build and how to prove it works.

What You'll Do

• Engage directly with customers to understand their automation challenges and identify where our AI APIs can help

• Build prototypes and proof-of-concept integrations that demonstrate value quickly

• Evaluate how well our ML models are solving real customer problems — and articulate what needs to improve

• Work with our product team to define requirements for new APIs or enhancements based on what you learn in the field

• Help onboard strategic customers to Smartscan (our document data extraction API) and Autosuggest (our predictive automation engine for accounting workflows)

You'll Be Great in This Role If You

• Have experience working with APIs - you have built things with ML APIs and understand their strengths and limitations

• Enjoy talking to customers and figuring out what they actually need (vs. what they ask for)

• Have strong programming skills: You can prototype a working solution in days, not months

• Know enough data science to evaluate whether an ML approach is working — you don't need to train the models, but you need to know when they're failing

• Are comfortable being the bridge between customers and a product/data science team
